Jen Brand is entering her third year as an Athletic Academic Advisor at Xavier University. She advises the men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's track/cross country and men's tennis teams. Additionally, Brand is the Tutor Coordinator for all sports and also coordinates the Study Tables program.

In addition to her duties as an Athletic Academic Advisor, Brand teaches PSYC 100, Efficient Reading and Study Skills, for incoming freshmen and co-teaches SPMG 141, Issues Effecting Student Athletes, with Kim Powers Hoyt to all freshmen student-athletes.

Prior to coming to Xavier, Brand worked as an Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. While with the Hoosiers, Brand advised 12 varsity athletic teams including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, baseball, softball, men's track, field hockey, volleyball and women's golf. She also served as the Co-Coordinator for the CHAMPS program at IU from 2004-05.

Before her time at IU, Brand spent a year as an intern for Academic Support for Student- Athletes at Indiana State University in Terra Haute, Ind. There she taught a University Studies course designated for student-athletes as well as mentored freshmen, transfer and academically at-risk student-athletes. Prior to her internship at ISU, Brand served as a Sport Psychology consultant for several teams and individuals.

Brand, a 2000 graduate of Elon University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, is currently completing her master's degree in science in health and kinesiology with an emphasis in sport psychology.
